Nice to meet you!

I'm Eeva, a professional photographer and a wilderness and nature guide. My camera has been with me on my travels for almost 15 years, about half of that as a full-time job.

Nature photography has become a beloved profession, which also includes writing work, trips for clients and other client photography, always with an emphasis on nature.

My long-time dream of living in the north and photographing directly from my doorstep has recently come true. We have lived in Kuusamo since 2019, surrounded by forest and lake with my boyfriend and Australian shepherd Lily. Last year in 2022 our log house was completed in the middle of a pine forest by the lake. Here nature and its protection have become an even more important part of my everyday life.

I am a NIKON creator and POW Finland ambassador.

My style

I love trying to capture dreamy light in my images. I try to photograph the softness in nature in a way that you could feel the calmness through the photo. I have found my style by spending a lot of time in the nature by myself and experimenting different styles.

My biggest inspiration at the moment is to photograph close to home. We still have very beautiful forests nearby and hopefully we won’t lose them ever, but the fear is constant.

Work

At the moment I sell photo rights, write to magazines and make campaigns that encourage people to spend more time outdoors. We also have a few Photo trips every year with Mikko my boyfriend where we take guests to our favourite places in Finland. I am planning a new exhibition at the moment.

I have been speaking in Nature photo of the year Gala at Finlandia house 2017. I have also been judging Kuusamo Nature photo competition in 2021.

I’ve done guiding tours for Visit Finland and their global clients. I also write articles for outdoor magazines such as Latu & Polku and LUODE.

My photos have been at Rio Olympics in Finland House and some are permanently at Hossa National Park nature center and Syöte.
